How to Work With Your Advisor
At the end, you'll have your first question in front of your advisor, written so the reply comes back ready to act on. Your advisor is our founder, Joao, who has invested billions in acquiring and divesting companies on Wall Street. See his bio on Our Team.
Before You Start
- Where it is: "My Advisor" in the top navigation opens your Discussion Board. The My Business home also has a My Advisor card that links there.
- Plan: Advisory, $499 a month or $4,990 a year. It includes every tool and 5,000 AI credits a month. Spots are limited; the pricing page shows how many are left.
- Upgrading from Solo: open Account, then Account Settings, then Subscriptions, and click "Upgrade to Advisory" under Change Plan. The upgrade applies right away, prorated.
- Your numbers: your advisor can work inside your account and sees what you see, so the more of My Business you've set up, the more specific the reply.
Steps
- Click "My Advisor". The Discussion Board lists your posts with their status, priority and last update. Screenshot to come: The Discussion Board listing posts with Subject, Status, Priority, Context, Messages and Last updated columns (board-list.png)
- Click "+ Start New". The New post form opens.
- Write a Subject and a Message. Say what you're deciding, by when, what you've already looked at in the app, and what you'd choose today. For the hypothetical Steadyroot Wellness: "Hire an assistant before January? A virtual assistant at $1,000 a month frees about 10 hours a week. Our Custom Scenario puts those hours into 6 more coaching clients and 20 more course sales: $17,260 more revenue against $12,000 a year, and $3,129 more a year to us. Deciding by December 1."
- Set Priority and Context, then click "Post". Context is Blueprint, Playbook or General, so your advisor knows where to look. Status starts at Open. Screenshot to come: The New post form with Subject, Message, and the Status, Priority and Context selects (new-post-form.png)
- Read the reply. Your advisor aims to reply within 24 hours on business days. You get an email headed "New reply" with a link to the thread. Screenshot to come: A board thread showing the owner's question and the advisor's written reply (thread-reply.png)
- Follow up in the same thread. Use "Write a message…" at the bottom. When the question is settled, set Status to Resolved and click "Update".
Tips
- One decision per post, so each keeps its own history.
- For a quick question about a number on screen, ask Occam, the AI advisor, for 1 credit. Bring decisions with trade-offs to your advisor. See How to Ask Occam About Your Numbers.
- Want to talk live? On any paid plan, the pricing page sells a "30-Minute Session" ($99, "Book 30 Minutes") and a "60-Minute Session" ($198, "Book an Hour"). Your Subscriptions tab shows them as available.
- Expert support doesn't cover tax preparation or filing, legal advice or investment advice.
Common Questions
How fast will I get a reply?
Your advisor aims for 24 hours on business days, Monday to Friday, excluding US federal holidays. For a question posted on the weekend, the clock starts Monday.
What happens if I leave Advisory?
The board turns read-only and keeps every message. Moving to Solo keeps every tool and ends only the advisor relationship.
Can I stop my advisor seeing my account?
Yes. In Account Settings, open Consultants and click "Revoke access". Your subscription doesn't change.
What does the board show without Advisory?
"Get a Dedicated Advisor", with an "Explore Advisory" button that opens pricing.
