Build Your Vision
How to Set Your Target
You'll have a monthly target for your Blueprint, calculated from your household's real expenses, income and taxes rather than a round number that may or may not be what you need. This is where the Freedom Number plugs in.
Before You Start
- Where: the "Target" card on a Blueprint's dashboard. A Blueprint copied from My Business opens straight onto it.
- Plan: free on every plan.
- Have ready: your Freedom Number. Without one, the option links to the calculator ("Click here to calculate →").
Steps
- Pick "Use my Freedom Number". It's marked "Recommended" and shows your number, such as "$20,043/month". Screenshot to come: Target page with Use my Freedom Number selected and the Save Target button (target-step.png)
- Or type your own. "Set a custom target" takes any monthly amount, for a plan that isn't about the household's needs.
- Click "Save Target". You're back on the dashboard, and Design is unlocked.
Tips
- The target follows your Freedom Number. Change your figures under "Me" ("Update Freedom Number →" goes there) and every Blueprint using it moves with it. A custom target stays put until you change it.
- On a Blueprint copied from My Business, a line above the options shows today's profit beside the goal.
Common Questions
Why not just pick a number?
A guess can be too low to carry the household or higher than you need, and a plan built on it inherits the error. The Freedom Number adds up your expenses, other income and taxes, with a safety buffer on top.
Can I change the target later?
Yes. "Target" never locks. Open it, choose again and click "Save Target".
