Common Questions

How do I do a cash flow analysis of my business?

Start from sales and take away, in order, the direct cost of the work, overhead, loan payments, the cash tied up in timing, long-term purchases and tax. What's left is the cash the business produced. The diagnostic lays out each step on your numbers and shows which ones drain the most.

How do I know if my numbers are healthy for my industry?

Each measure is graded against businesses that sell what you sell: gross and operating margin, growth, what marketing brings back, how fast profit turns into cash. Grades run from Lagging to Excellent, so a 20% margin reads as strong for a restaurant and weak for a consultancy.

What is a small business financial health check?

A read of the business as it is: where each dollar of sales goes, which measures are strong or weak for your industry, and the statements a lender would ask for. Here it runs on your own numbers, not a questionnaire.

How much of the diagnostic is free?

Reading your files, the walk from sales to what you keep, your overall score and the four areas behind it, with no account needed to start. Detailed grades, the industry benchmarks, the deep dives and the full statements come with a paid plan.

Do my books have to be clean, or do I need an accountant first?

No. Type the numbers in or upload the spreadsheets and exports you already have; the diagnostic reads them as they are. It doesn't keep your books or file a return, so your bookkeeper and CPA stay.

Does it connect to QuickBooks, Xero or my bank?

There's no live connection. Export a report from your bookkeeping software or bank and upload the file, or enter the numbers by hand.
